It is time again to volunteer for the lodge work weekend on Oct 11-13.
We will be doing the annual clean up and prep chores like cleaning , washing bedding, stacking wood, organizing the kitchen and yard clean up.
We also need to do some repairs and projects to get the lodge in tiptop shape before the start of the ski season.
We have done many upgrades to the lodge over the summer.
- New floors have been installed in both bathrooms and the kitchen.
- A urinal was installed in the men's room and one toilet relocated.
- A new stone patio was installed out the kitchen door.
- One stove was replaced.
- New recessed LED lights with dimmers were installed in the living room and dining room.
- Our fireplace chimney failed inspection and the cost to repair it was cost prohibitive. In excess of $12,000 minimum and no guarantee it could be done this season.
The board voted to install a fireplace insert with insulated liner instead at a cost about 50% less that may be in before the work weekend. The insert will generate heat unlike the fireplace that sends heat up the chimney, It burns cleaner and safer.
